Isfahan Customs exports 240,000 tons of goods in 11 months

TEHRAN, Feb. 25 (MNA) — Over 240,312 tons of goods were exported through the customs checkpoint at the city of Isfahan, during the past 11 months of the current year (Iranian calendar year ends March 20, 2007).

Goods and products worth $198,036,000 were exported from Isfahan Province, IRNA quoted the managing director of Isfahan Customs Administration as saying on Saturday.

 

The exported items posted 33 percent and four percent increases in terms of weight and value compared to the same period last year, he announced.

 

Exports of industrial products comprised 96 percent of the weight and 53 percent of the value of the total exports from the province’s customs, during the same period.

 

Handicrafts including hand-woven carpets ranked second among the goods exported through the customs checkpoint in terms of value, they accounted for 41 percent of the total non-oil exports from Isfahan Province, he commented.

 

Also during the same period, agricultural and food products worth $10,438,000 and products from the region’s mining sector valued at $635,000 were other major items exported via the customs.   

 

Some 71 countries including the UAE, Iraq and Afghanistan were respectively the major importers of Iranian products and goods during the same period.
